During the toddlerhood stage they begin to claim independence. They want to control their actions more by basically saying no or yes when trying to make decisions for themselves. In this stage their emotions are quicker to change since they start feeling more jealousy and frustration. Also, self-awareness starts when they start recognizing themselves in pictures and in mirrors.
